This course is the first step in preparing you for work as a community interpreter. Level 1 Award in Community Interpreting is a portfolio based vocational course, which offers an opportunity to acquaint yourself with the basics of linguistic awareness and theoretical framework of community interpreter’s role.
The aim of this qualification is to enable learners to:
To learn how to use language skills to the best of their ability and knowledge – giving awareness how language changes depending on the situation;
To explore the voluntary and public sectors in the UK where interpreters are required to work;
To learn about the role of a community interpreter.
