Are you passionate about pursuing a career in the Uniformed Public Services? Kick-start your jorney with our Level 1 Diploma. The public services industry is very diverse, it includes the armed forces and emergency services such as the Police Force or Fire Brigade, as well as encompassing security organisations, the Prison Services, HM Customs and Excise, and more. It's the perfect choice for those considering a career in any of the uniformed services at officer or technical trade level.

Public Services are at the very heart of our community and those who pursue a career within one of the uniformed services will be fulfilling a vital role in society. Our courses have a practical emphasis and are taught by ex-uniformed public service staff with programmes specifically designed to develop a range of key skills which aim to prepare learners for employment in the uniformed public services.

Due to the number of learners who progress into employment within this sector, Hopwood Hall College is a platinum partner to several armed and emergency services.

This course is taught at our Middleton campus, located in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

Qualification

Qualification
Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

If you have not attained GCSE grades 4-9 in English and Maths you will automatically be enrolled in classes to work towards these qualifications at an appropriate level to suit your ability.

Prosp User 2

A mixture of units to meet the guided learning hours recommended to gain this qualification. The course has practical and theory assessments.

Topics on this course include:

  • Understanding Discipline

  • Physical Preparation and Fitness

  • Outdoor and Adventurous Expeditions

  • Equality and Diversity

  • Citizenship

  • Health and Safety

  • Map Reading and Navigation

You will be expected to join our FREE gym and take part in extra curriculum activities such as voluntary work and local sporting activities.

Prosp User 3

There is no specific work experience required or undertaken for this course however, you will obtain the skills and knowledge that you need in order to progress into a career in the Public Services.

Prosp User 4

Upon completion of this course, you can progress onto the Level 2 Diploma in Public Services.
