Course Overview

The Early Years Educator Apprenticeship is designed to prepare Apprentices to become Early Years Educators, enabling Apprentices to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.

Apprentices will develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Early Years sector. Achievement of this qualification will enable apprentices to access higher-level jobs within the sector, e.g. Nursery Supervisor, Nursery Manager, Pre-school Manager/Coordinator, Managing a Home Childcare business

Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)

Initial assessment and diagnostic testing on English and Maths will take place prior to commencement of apprenticeship. (Unless already achieved GCSE English and Maths at Grades A-C/4-9 or equivalent).

Prosp User 2

On an apprenticeship programme, apprentices will learn and develop a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours. These include:

Plan and supervise child initiated and adult led activities which are based around the needs and interests of each individual child.

Managing infection control.

How to encourage children to participate in planned activities that reflect the stages of development.

Understand legislation relating to the safeguarding, protection and welfare of children.

Follow legislation relating to equality, diversity and inclusive practice.

Supports children to develop numeracy and language skills through games and play.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you can:

Continue your employment in the industry or progress onto a range of higher level education.
