Do you aspire to work as a hairdresser or beauty therapist? Want to kickstart your career in the hair and beauty industry but you're not sure where to start? Our Level 1 Diploma in an Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector is the perfect place for you to start.

You'll learn skills including shampooing and conditioning, skincare, manicures and pedicures, and plaiting and twisting, as well as the key attributes of those in the industry such as communication, team work, and how to provide excellent customer service.

This course is taught at our Rochdale campus, located in Rochdale Town Centre, Greater Manchester.

4 GSCE Grades to include English and maths at Grade 1-2 is required.

This course offers 2 different pathways, you can either choose hairdressing pathway or beauty therapy pathway.

Hairdressing pathway

Shampoo and condition hair, Health and Safety, Twisting and Plating hair, Drying and Sytling techniques, Teamwork, working in Hairdressing

Beauty Therapy pathway

Working in beauty related industes, health and safety, skincare, Manicure treatments, Pedicure treatments, Make-up

Open Work Experience

During your course you will complete work experience on a weekly basis for 3 hours in our prestigious Riverside salon.

Open Progression

Level 2 Hairdressing, Level 2 Hair and Media Make-up, apprenticeship based on achieving required Level 1 Functional Skill in English and Maths. Possible careers are a Hairdresser, Barber, Stylist or Salon Manager.
