The digital revolution is well underway with a world of opportunity!

Recently badged as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ), this course offers a greater level of collaborative development to work alongside organisations like Zen Internet to allow you to gain professional qualifications alongside your studies.

This HTQ HND course will give you the opportunities to develop software development, cybersecurity and networking skills, whilst exploring topics like the Internet of Things (IoT). This coursewill provide wider technical training that includes the skills, knowledge and behaviours crucial to the digital economy, meaning you will be perfectly equipped to join thedigitalworkforce.

The course will be delivered by industry experts with extensive computing knowledge as well as industrial and commercial experience. We have a dedicated computer suite and networking lab for practicals - Our facilities are in line with industry standards so our students and our employer partners can access and train using equipment that meets the very latest industry standards.

BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing for England

UCAS Tariff: 80 Points

English Language and mathematics at GCSE grade 4/C or above is also required for entry to this course. Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications are also accepted.

The units offered cover a range of computer-related skills the core units studied are:

  • Programming

  • Networking

  • Professional Practice

  • Database Design & Development

  • Security

  • Managing a Successful Computing Project

  • Computer Systems Architecture

  • Computing Research Project

  • Business Intelligence

In addition to the core units the course will also include five optional units.

The course is delivered through a combination of lectures, tutorials and E-learning.

This qualification givesyoueligibility for membership of the British Computing Society as an associate member on completion of the course.

The HTQ will provide wider technical training that includes the skills, knowledge and behaviours crucial to the digital economy, meaning you will be perfectly equipped to join the digital workforce.

You'll be well-prepared to take on roles in general computing such as systems analyst, data designer, systems tester, database administrator, IT project manager, IT support technician and web designer. With additional experience and training, it can also support you to pursue digital roles such as artificial intelligence architect, web developer, growth hacker and cloud specialist.
