Course Overview

The responsibilities of the role are to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with

internal or external customers.

With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows the apprentice to develop a wide range of skills.

Qualification
Non regulated provision, Level 3, Administration

English and Maths GCSE's grades 4/C or above or equivalent. Individual employers may have their own higher entry requirements.

Prosp User 2

On an apprenticeship programme, you will learn and develop a range of knowledge, skills and behaviours.These include:

• The organisational purpose, activities, aims, values, vision for the future, resources and the way that the political/economic environment affects the organisation

• The organisation’s processes, e.g. making payments or processing customer data. Is able to review processes autonomously and make suggestions for improvements

• The relevant external factors e.g. market forces, policy & regulatory changes, supply chain etc. and the wider

business impact). Where necessary understands the international/global market in which the employing organisation is placed

• Exercises proactivity and good judgement. Makes effective decisions based on sound reasoning and is able to deal with challenges in a mature way

• Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report. Plans required

resources to successfully deliver projects. Undertakes and leads projects as and when required

End Point Assessment:

Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve prior to taking the end-point assessment. The apprentice must complete all elements of the on programme learning to achieve the assessment gateway equirements. The EPA consists of 3 assessment methods:

• Knowledge Test

• Portfolio-based Interview

• Project/Improvement Presentation

Prosp User 3

As part of the apprenticeship there is a dedicated off the job learning requirement. This is a minimum of 6 hours per week for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Role development:

• Observing colleagues

• Receiving mentoring

• Shadowing

• Training

Programme Development:

• Teaching or learning the theory related to their roles

• Coursework

Prosp User 4

On completion of this standard, apprentices can progress into a wide range of employment opportunities or further education.

Typical Job Roles: Administrators, Business Administrators, Personal Assistants, Team Co-Ordinators.
